What hair gel is recommended for texturized men hair?

I really want my hair to stand out of the crowd. Well, actually I dont know what gel is the best to use. I would like one that does not make my hair hard but instead stay moist and softer all day long. U know..the one that my curl could be a true curl,lol. Also, while Im on the hair subject I have a stupid question. Im half black and half spanish. However, my hair is on the black side of the equation. How do I get my hair to look more like spanish people hair. U know like the spikes..and etc. Any suggestions on either question?
